A self‑taught predominantly wildlife artist, my practice is rooted in a lifelong connection to nature and a strong commitment to realism. I am a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans charcoals, pastels, oil and acrylic painting, inks, watercolours, and mixed media. With a fluid approach to materials, my work explores texture, movement, and atmospheric depth, allowing each medium to inform the story it tells.
Having grown up in the Australian outback, I developed an early appreciation for resilience, subtle beauty, and the quiet power of wildlife. These influences continue to underpin my work, informing both subject choice and colour palette. More recently, living on the coast has introduced a softer coastal influence into newer pieces, seen through evolving tones, gentle transitions, and an expanded approach while remaining grounded in realism.
Whether working in bold, expressive marks or layered, nuanced compositions, I like to bring a thoughtful balance of intuition and technique to every piece, creating works that invite close looking and emotional connection. I am particularly drawn to detailed drawing, where careful observation, refined technique, and patience come together to capture the true character of each subject.
My style is intentional and restrained. Backgrounds are often omitted, allowing the subject alone to command attention and presence. This minimalist approach places focus on form, texture, and expression, encouraging a direct connection between the viewer and the subject. Earthy, natural tones are favoured, reflecting both the environments the animals inhabit and the landscapes that have shaped the artist.
Alongside personal projects, I welcome occasional commissioned work and enjoys collaborating closely with clients to create meaningful, bespoke pieces. Each commission is approached with the same attention to detail and respect for the subject that defines their personal work, resulting in artworks that are considered, authentic, and timeless.
